He’s Deploying…What’s in it for you?

First thing’s first…

Military OneSource- This is a fantastic resource available to all DOD and their families.  The can provide you with any information or questions you may have.  You can reach them at 1-800-342-9647 or go to their website: www.militaryonesource.com

Save Money- In case you were unaware, with your dependent ID, you have access to military bases.  If you live close to a base, do ALL your shopping there!  It is tax free and most of their groceries are significantly lower than their civilian counterparts.

Finance Analysis- You have access to debt consolidators and people who can help you budget.

Medical Insurance- Now that your spouse in active duty, your family is eligible for Tricare Prime.  Contact the reserve center your spouse was attached to and ask for enrollment information or visit www.tricare.mil

Legal Assistance- In seeking the power of attorney you will need when your spouse leaves, the center’s legal department can provide several services depending on your needs.

Child Care- DOD child care programs offer child care with great rates that are usually dependent on your income.  They are usually must more inexpensive than civilian child care centers.
